Case Matías Catrileo: Chilean state continues to reward the murderers of Mapuche

One of the bodies that monitors the actions of the Chilean State, the Comptroller General of the Republic, permitted that the police officer who is the murderer of Matias Catrileo continues to work in the institution, despite being convicted by the same Chilean justice.

In this way is confirmed that the criminal will not have a single day of punishment for killing the young Mapuche from behind, while participating in a territorial recovery in the community Yeupeko Vilkun, the morning of January 3, 2008.

Thus, each State agency demonstrates how the uniformed offender is awarded for his cowardly action, yes cowardly, because he shot at Matías heavily armed and protected by a heavy contingent of his comrades, when the community member was fleeing the attack, completely unarmed.

The weight of the evidence and the unconcealable proof of premeditated murder made that they finally convicted the corporal Walter Ramírez for the crime of "unnecessary violence resulting in death" with the ridiculous sentence of 3 years on probation. An explicit mockery of the Mapuche movement that shows the dirty war of the State against hard blows the Mapuche Nation, which hides and congratulates the enemy those who deal.

That same probation was the argument of the Comptroller to grant full freedom of action to the policeman and letting him continue to wearing his uniform and his weapons, being transferred to several cities, like he is running away from something, protected by the government in power and his superiors, who - it must be said-can dismiss him, but who do not do so.

The next January 3 will be completed five years of the murder of Matias Catrileo, and therefore the justice of the Mapuche can manifest itself in different places, continuing the fight of Matias and not forgetting the reason for his departure.

STATEMENT FAMILY KATRILEO KEZADA

"Our Mapuche People, are a living people. No bullet will stop the fight for our freedom "

Faced with the ruling of the Comptroller General of the Republic we state the following:

Kiñe
: We are SHOCKED and we REPUDIATE the fact that the MURDERER Walter Ramirez is free and has not been discharged and remains in the ranks of the Carabines of Chile. This institution does not comply with a court ruling, passing above the law and the Constitution, with the consent of the Ministry of Interior.

Epu: It increases our anger, to know that the Comptroller washes his hands in the face of the FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE JUDGMENT OF THE SUPREME COURT, which states that the convicted Ramirez can not remain on active duty for the duration of the paltry penalty remitted.

Küla: Be it clear that the murderer has always remained on active duty, being moved to Coyaique within a few days of killing Matias, he was moved back last year to serve on the Equine Promotion department.

Meli: We believe that no government has taken political responsibility for their part in this case. Under the leadership of Michelle Bachelet, Walter Ramirez killed Matias and the executive branch crossed its arms, continuing its repressive policies. The current government has no political will to fire the GOPE, having ourselves formally requested of the Interior Ministry to remove Ramirez from the Institution.

Kechu: We see the Chilean State as head of the human rights violations, as all powers are in collusion to the service of capital. The Executive Power criminalizes the social struggle to justify repression in Walmapu, the legislature in turn generates laws protecting the actions of the repressive forces and the Judicial interprets laws at the convenience of the powers that be.

Kayu: WE DO NOT ACCEPT IMPUNITY!
THIS JANUARY 3, WE WILL COMMEMORATE THE FIFTH YEAR OF THE CRIME AT THE HANDS OF CHILEAN STATE AGAINST OUR SON AND BROTHER WEICHAFE MATIAS: PROTESTING AND REPUDIATING THE UNPUNISHE
D MURDERERS OF THE YOUNG FIGHTERS.

FIGHTING they killed you, FIGHTING we remember you!
