After the Gendarmes committed themselves to transfer them soon from the prison of Temuco to Angol, the five Mapuche political prisoners who were on a dry hunger strike decided to suspend the measure.

It was the main demand of Leonardo Quijón, Cristian Levinao, Guido Bahamondes, Luis Marileo and Fernando Millacheo, in order to lay down their mobilization, to which the National Gendarmes finally agreed after they were made to see their own obstinate immobility regarding that the prisoners should be at least close to their family, all members of communities of Ercilla.

The spokesman for young Mapuche, Freddy Marileo, said that if the agreement is not fulfilled by the correctional institution by Thursday, the 5 villagers will resume the dry hunger strike, which has meant to them a loss of about 10 kilos, in addition to physical consequences that difficult to recover from.

Meanwhile, in Angol the other 4 Mapuche prisoners continue on hunger strike already fulfilng 58 days. Two of them, Eric Montoya and Paulino Levipán were taken to the hospital in that city for serious health complications.
